I started my microdosing journey November 1st with an open mind. I’m hoping to improve my anxiety & depression and reduce the frequency of migraine headaches. I also hope to increase creativity and energy with microdosing. I am journaling my experience to document any effects and adjustments made during my month long regimen. This way I can recreate it again if I find myself needing another dosing cycle.
I will be starting off with 0.15 grams in each capsule and following James Fadiman’s system. This means that I have 1 day on followed by 2 days off. So I dosed on November 1st, 4th and 7th for the first week. I took each dose in the morning when I first got up to eliminate any sleep interference.
Microdose Day 1
The first day I realized that 0.15 grams was a little too much for me because I definitely felt something. It wasn’t much but the point of microdosing is to use unnoticeable amounts. Everything felt very vivid and vibrant. I was in a great mood that day and full of energy. My body felt very relaxed to the point of feeling weak. I only felt “weird” for about 2 hours, so it wasn’t too bad. I made sure to follow my regular routine and to get out into nature for some fresh air.
Microdose Day 2
I continued with the 0.15 grams dose the second day, just in case there was just a higher concentration of psilocybin in the first dose. It turns out that it was still a little bit too much. I was still feeling slight effects. It felt like the onset of a macrodose but it didn’t escalate to a more intense experience. I decided to lower the next doses to find my sweet spot. Again, I made sure to get outside for some fresh air and sunshine.
Microdose Day 3
The third day, I had lowered each capsule to about 0.12. I think I have found my sweet spot with this dose. I didn’t feel anything but it still gave me a burst of energy and boost in mood. It was also very mild weather here, so I was able to get out for more sunshine and fresh air in nature. I was Earthing as well. It is when you walk barefoot in the grass, on natural ground or in the forest. It helps you ground your energy and reduces inflammation. I have already noticed an improvement in my mental health since starting microdosing. I still have some down moments but they’re becoming less and less.
I still felt the boost in mood and energy on my off days, which was great. I continue to try to get out into nature everyday because this alone can help improve your mood. There is also a warm spell going on where I live, so I’m trying to enjoy the last of the warmer weather before winter really sets in. I’m very optimistic about the results I will get after doing the full month regimen.
